Luncheon Graduation Report

On Wednesday May 31st 2006 a very successful Graduation was held at the Grosvenor Hotel, with 144 members attending.

There were 19 Graduates presented to our Patron Peg Brooks and sashed by Mary Meyer our President. The total losses of these VIP’s were an absolutely amazing 279.350 kg. The total loss for all of the Members that Graduated in May was a staggering

547.200 kg.

Congratulations to all of these very successful achievers.

The Graduates who attended the Luncheon were all given a gift from the Luncheon Committee, which consisted of a Double Picture frame with a re-sized diploma inserted, and room for their Graduation Photo, which is a feature of all State run graduations.

The 42 prior Graduates who attended were also presented to those who were there. Those who had more than 10 years on their badges were given a carnation in recognition of a very hard job well done.

We were especially glad to have the winner of the Greatest Weight Loss Award for the City Graduates Julie Billing from Reynella Club at the luncheon. Julie had a terrific loss of 47.300 kg. She was also the winner of the State Greatest Weight Loss Award for 2005 and Mary presented her with her sash and award for this too.

Charlotte Ralph from Port Victoria Club was the country Greatest Weight Loss Award winner with 29.100 kg.

Thank you to ALL Clubs and Members who donated prizes for the raffles.

We apologise to all Clubs who donated prizes for the raffles and were not recognised in the June Newsletter, but due to a slight hiccup with the lists we unintentionally goofed.

We will rectify this omission and get it right next year.

On the 15th June we held a trading table and raffle to raise funds for the Association Charity Appeal, which was most successful. Our thanks go to Kath for taking charge of the table.

Two of our members have had wedding anniversaries, Ina celebrated 55 years and Dot 47 years, congratulations to you both and your respective husbands. Very well done !!!!!!
Christine gave a very interesting talk regarding the labels on packaged food and how we need to read the labels very carefully. For as Christine pointed out to us, how easy it is to misinterpret the wording on them.
Thank you Christine for all the trouble you went to , to give your enlightening and enjoyable talk.
We are enjoying our lovely hot mugs of soup prior to our meetings, especially with the temperatures getting so low. Thank you to all the soup makers, it is very much appreciated by all members.
